Joey Knight tweeted out about an hour ago that we should expect a public statement from USF regarding Big12 aspirations in the next few days. I'm guessing it'll be a typical "USF wants to position itself to be the best always" type thing.

If the quiet approach isn't working, this won't help..... as far as being included or not. Personally, I'd just prefer they stay in stealth mode.

If they come out with the public pandering maybe.

The ECU Athletics Twitter account just posted about how they'd make a great travel partner for West Virginia with all the areas the Big XII is in colored purple, and Joey Knight was responding to that when he said he'd expect a USF statement sometime soon. I'd be disappointed if we came out with something even close to that publicly, but I don't think that will be the case.

I did see the tweets from Ecu and Joey's response.

As days go by, I can't help feel like USF is slowly moving out of the picture. I hope their statement has a theme of quiet confidence. Not really sure how much more they can say that they already haven't, but we'll see.

I believe, sadly, that we should be preparing ourselves for the unfortunate circumstance of being left on the outside, looking in, yet again. Our relatively low donor and fan support is likely too high a hurdle to overcome, considering the downstream effects. I appreciate the changes Athletics has been making to improve this... just wish it would have happened far sooner. We were complacent to ride the wave of football success for too long without truly capitalizing on it, and allowed a lot of that opportunity pass us by. Hopefully that mistake won't be repeated if CWT ends up being remotely as successful in the field CJL was or even the team CSH oversaw towards his early reign.

Are relatively low donor and fan support has gone up this year but you are right that might have an impact.  the Tampa Bay fan are fickle, just ask the Bucs.  If I recall, the years prior to us playing Florida State they were going through poor attendance as well.   It happens to programs.   This year because of the FSU game our season average will go up plus we have a team that can win.
