So, Big-12 would want to take a school because of a single corporation could possibly fund them for 10 years.   Really, is that what you are saying...  Seriously, think about it.   What happens if economy turns and FedEx says, no we are not going to put money in anymore?

Exactly - Memphis is at the bottom of every measurable.  This clinging to Fedex is so silly.  Why in the world would the Big 12 not shop their championship game sponsorship.  Further, if anyone thinks that the corporation will allow Fred Smith to throw that kind of money around is kidding themselves, he does not get to make that decision by himself.

Coaches have a slightly different agenda than the administration in that wins and losses are pretty much their prime directive.

This, and how much the school throws at the athletic programs & facilities. I'm happy that USF seems to stay pretty balanced, and maybe leans more toward academic capital projects.

We beat WVU 2006-2007, and 2009.

(1) If we had B12 teams playing us in Tampa, the attendance would go up dramatically. A weakened schedule and sucking air in recent years have hurt our attendance numbers.

(2) Our recruiting would go up to greater heights with a P5 label.

(3) More funding would mean better salaries for our assistants and staff people.

(4) We've been there. When we were in the Big East, our program grew rapidly.

The giant has been sleeping because he lacks food!

If the B12 decision makers don't see the potential of investing in USF, they are blind. Hopefully, those firms that they have on the payroll are doing their job with the next reports for possible candidates.

The B12 will go with four new teams. The lure of all that money is too great.

USF has a legit shot at this thing!

I absolutely believe we go in with ucf. The B12 has nothing to lose. They get paid to gamble with two huge schools in Florida that have each flirted with legitimate big-time football success.

Trying to convince yourself Memphis has no chance will not make it true.

Trying to pretend that you don't owe $100 will not make it true.

It's hard for me to understand any outcome that does not include both UCF and USF.

Short list of reasons is

 recruiting

tv market

academics

Maybe $100 is too large an expenditure.  His Memphis diploma has a Charmin watermark on it so he may have trouble committing funds like that.  Either way, he shouldn't have run his mouth, but let's try to have some compassion here.

I thought FedEx would pay, didn't they co-sign?

Somehow I doubt TigerJay has the clout to have FedEx write a check his mouth couldn't cash.
