Not good for USF...

This is incorrect and honestly, the opposite of what will occur.

For those whom are opting out, they are saying they no longer want to pay for the schools that are carried by the network cable companies and no longer want to pay for what they do not want. What will occur is that for the already established networks, they will see a decrease in their revenues as people in the states that are contracted to carry their network opt out. These people will pay for the network/school they want to watch. That will make schools in a large market even more important to a start up network as the conference will have a greater local population in which to build interest and draw future fan support. The small market schools will see a decrease in value as people whom are offered more selections at a cheaper cost find alternate and more local schools to support while enjoying their game experience. The local schools will cast less to support as their will be less travel costs involved to attend games and allow for a more intimate interaction and greater fan experience.

There are fans of school whom became fans as they had no other team to watch while growing up and have never actually attended a game. This will change. As the options for viewing expand and costs increase, people will start to follow their local teams as they will be able to view them like their parents never did. They will also be able to actually attend games as the costs involved will be lower.

I'm still waiting on our a good bunch of our pre-1997 alumni to ditch their allegiance to UF, FSU, or Miami and jump aboard with their alma mater. :popcorn:Will something miraculously happen that will cause them to switch, Azmodi?

Consistent winning, season-over-season? Maybe that'll get them to ditch those allegiances--your hope is as good as my skepticism at the moment.

Noted. Time will prove me right or wrong as far as USF goes but, my statement works for all schools. A large market is move valuable to a new network/conference expansion not less valuable as they're suggesting.
