One thing about that conference is that Texas will do what it wants and everyone will follow. The other  schools are going to be very cautious about doing anything that results in Texas bolting for the P12, B10, ACC or SEC, all of whom would welcome them (although theoretically A&M may be able to block them). The B12 contract is not worth much without Texas anchoring it and schools like Iowa State, Kansas State, WVU, Baylor, etc., know it.

BINGO. Add that with Texas arrogance and IMO there is about a zero percent chance they share a conference with schools like USF, UCF, Memphis, Cincinnati etc. They like the power they weild in the big 12 but not so much that they will share it with schools they perceive as even farther below them than their current conferencemates.
