Friday some consultant is going to talk at BIG 12 meeting about money projections with expansion...read somewhere expansion could mean over a billion dollars extra for Big 12 members to split up over next few years...money talk will perk up everyone's ears tomorrow at meeting....schools other than Texas will tell Texas to shut up when the consultant gives his presentation tomorrow talking about extra $1 billion +.

Be interesting to see where you read that. If true, you'd think there would be a helluvalot more talk about it ...

But IF they listen to some consultant, and IF they decide to expand, and IF they are considering USF, then MAYBE we should be talking more seriously about this topic.

Texas finally got on record Wednesday when athletic director Mike Perrin said, "The prudent thing for [the Big 12] to do is stay where we are."

He added: "I think the Big Ten is well positioned on television, well-positioned on the playoffs."

Perrin quickly corrected himself, saying he meant Big 12 instead of Big Ten.

"Texas has not moved," he added

 

This was not unintentional imo......

So you're thinking that Perrin really thinks the right thing to do is expand?  The only one he would really answer to is the Texas prez.  Guess if the anti-expansionism goes all the way to the top, gonna take moving a mountain to change a mind.

I disagree.  One of the reasons (in my opinion) that we haven't seen USF mentioned even more that we have is that we don't have a local guy combing the B12 for quotes like Cincinnati has.  An anonymous Big 12 source is naturally going to give answers based upon the questions he is asked.  So if a reporter asks about UCF, Memphis, or Cincinnati, naturally the answers are going to be tailored to those schools.  We have nobody locally digging for info on B12 expansion as it relates to USF.  No one.

I'm thinking the two local papers are focusing on their merge rather than the extremely unlikely announcement of anything expansion related.
