1.  That is Texas and always will be no matter if the have a losing season

2. Nothing to do with the conference

3.  True, but shortsighted since they will not get into the ACC, Big Ten, or SEC.

Smallest P5 because of the number of members.

Follow the history of every conference Texas has been in and you will see a pattern.

I read your post a couple times and I'm not sure if this beats anything I said.

The league is unstable for many of the same reasons the Big East was unstable.

It should expand but it won't because some of the members don't want to be in a league with schools like Memphis and Cincinnati and us. O, it may expand but then the bigger schools will be looking for an out as soon as they can.

Texas will be out as soon as the contract is up.

Pretty much. Outside of a paycheck bump there is no reason for us to be in the Big12. If any other solution solves the money issue I am all for that.

I do like the idea someone said earlier that was used in our paintball competitions as well as far as champions and relegation's bottom teams move to a lower division and top teams move up to the higher division. It would make the higher division more competitive as well.

It is big time college sports. It is only about the money.

I am all for more money, better competition, and better fit for our university. I am just not sold on the BIG12 being the answer, just a band aide. Best case scenario is there is a big ripple and we find ourselves going ACC or BIG10. Far fetched currently, so if the only real option does end up being BIG12 great. If we can some how get back to being a Power 6 and get the same money in the AAC that's great too. I'm not selling any souls, kidneys, nuts or first born to get into the BIG12.

I actually like the AAC if it can stay together and find a way to get a better TV deal.

Texas would be immediately accepted by any other conference and is an AAU member.

Not me.  I'd rather play B12 teams than crappy AAC teams

Yeah, you're probably right because Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas A&M couldn't get in the SEC either

I'd be ok with the AAC going P5 (P6?) and staying in the conference, and I'm not sure why you think the AAC has crappy teams.  The only ones we truly rolled were Cincinnati and UCF.  You could make a case for the Temple game but I seriously think we played out of our minds that game, we hit them in the mouth and they never recovered.

If our conference could become a "power conference," that would almost certainly guarantee that we could schedule OOC games against better opponents, which would work for me.  The thing that sucks the most about where we are is that it's becoming increasingly tougher to schedule good OOC opponents.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
