Well, it really wasn't nothing.  UAB football has been around since '91.  Yes, they took two years off when they terminated the football program for six months, but they still have the same head coach that was there for a season before they took 2015-16 off.

The most fascinating part of the UAB story is that along with the football program they also terminated bowling and rifle teams to save money.  I mean, how much can either team cost?
