And every time I hear that for awhile I'm going to think of this .....

Cade put up nothing in 1/4 of the time McClain put up nothing. They both didn't get the job done. Pretending McClain grabbed the job last week ignores a whole lot of football. If you want to give it to him because he's a freshman and we're obviously fodder for the next year or two, that's legit. But, McClain didn't win anything last week.

What about now?

I'd go with McClain because he could become better with time and experience. Fortin is what he is.

Could become better.... Come on. Just take the L. McClain is already better than Cade and it isn't particularly close. The play calling when Cade is in is designed to protect him because he is immobile. McClain allows them to use the full playbook. Cade looks nervous and uncomfortable. McClain looks poised.

I think McClain looks better. My gut tells me McClain is better. I looked at the numbers when I got home and it wasn't as productive as I thought while watching. As I said, I'd go with McClain, but he hasn't made it a no-brainer. I stand by that opinion.

McClain gives the defense something else to worry about. Cade... not so much. Go with McClain/Marsh. Cade is not the answer.

Cade didn't complete a single pass that Timmy couldn't make. Everything for him was short and quick to protect him because he is immobile. With Timmy, we can run a fuller offense that gives us a better chance of winning.

Awesome. I'll say it again, we should start McClain for the rest of the season. McClain, with the full playbook and the second/third team defense was a solid 10%-15% more productive. That's good enough for me to say he's the guy the rest of the year.
