I actually read up. Seems like he was a highly touted prospect, in regards to our program, and then he was injured and CWT just kind of left him on the bench

There is a 5000 page thread on this topic if you want to study up on him...

Which can pretty much be distilled down to “Seems like he was a highly touted prospect, in regards to our program, and then he was injured and CWT just kind of left him on the bench”

With the exception of a season and a half with CWT, I’ve been trying to erase my football memories after January 2010

Not going to lie. I was pumped when we hired Skip. I did not know he was going to be the personification of a wet bandaid.

Same here. And I DEFINITELY got fooled when I went up to Chicago and saw us beat Notre Dame to start the year.

Boy did that all go down hill quickly!

Oh man, that start of the season was crazy. So many lightning delays, we upset ND, Kelly turning deep purple. I thought hell yes, this guy is going to continue what Leavitt started.

I wasn’t too thrilled about the Taggart hire, and same with Strong. I honestly thought Strong would recruit Florida really well for us. So I was hopeful about that, but I was wrong.

It’s crazy to think we are only 5 coaches deep in our football saga. It feels like I have aged an entire lifetime since Leavitt was around.

Usually the coach that follows a legend doesn't work out ........ and CJL is a legend for building the program.

Jimmy did a nice job replacing Landry, and CJL still is a legend.

You and your ******* Cowboys but you're right ....... there are always exceptions.

And I messed up with my emphasis on the CJL reference .... will rephrase it.

Which explains CCS' failure with following CWT and all ......  😃 at least CJS doesn't have to worry about that

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
