Why did this team start off so low in the rankings to begin with?  We are a perennial Top 25 team in the last couple decades, aren't we?  P5 bias I guess.

Wait, I think I know the reason for our low ranking.  No Uconn in the conference means no higher ranking for USF so that when Uconn beats us it looks better than them........Yep that must be it.

I can most assure you there is no such thing as P5 bias in WBB. The same is also true for MBB. In reality rankings in college basketball means little compared to the goal of getting to the NCAA tournament.

You are probably right about that.  But I bet there is UConn bias.. see my post after this one and tell me your thoughts.

Yeah that could be. That program did lift a lot of boats in the AAC. I am not a big fan of WBB for a variety of reasons but Fernandez is the best coach on campus and now can start winning championships with UConn’s exit.

I truly believe they had to have a Top 20 team in the AAC for Uconn to be considered in somewhat of a legit conference, so I'm going to stick with my theory.

Now we don't have the Uconn factor, so our rankings are totally based on our results with no Uconn bias to sway the pollsters.....that said, I think we could be better off in the long run with this current scenario.  The early results of this year are very promising.  Not a big WBB fan either, but its USF, and we are good in this sport, so I will follow and root!
