The bowls lost further prestige when we got the playoffs. I say have as many bowls as you can. If you don’t like them then don’t watch. The P5 has screwed us out of the big bowls. At least let us have a scrap or two to get into a bowl.

Oh if USF is 1-9 and in a Bowl game, of course Im going to watch and root for the Bulls no matter what.

Good point on the Playoffs ruining the other Bowls.  Even the other top level bowls that are not Playoffs are now pretty much meaningless.

Having a gazillion bowls is all about TV money.  Lets face it.  The whole college football system is crap.  And not being at the big boy table leaves us with basically nothing to play for except a CC trophy.  Sad.

It's extra practices and an extra game for a program that desperately needs them, can't see a downside ............ but can't see any bowl other than whatever the one at RayJay is called now bothering with us.

Do keep in mind a few advantages of bowls:

1. Usually tied to a local charity 

2. Players (especially G5 players) get some type of reward

3. Teams get two weeks of extra practices

I definately see the advantages of #1 and 3.  And for our program any extra practice time of course is a plus.  Still have a hard time with teams getting rewards when being a losing team.

But Im living in the past.  The current climate is much different.  

Im flexible.  I can roll with change.

We are garbage this year so no bowl, but I realized after skip to not let any bowl go to waste so if we make one then I am there, however I did skip the gasparilla, and I am still smiling after that decision.

Exactly. This is to get the big P5 names into the bowls instead of the G5 teams with better records. They're transparent about rigging the system now because they can't be stopped.

Some of us need to out our tin hats away. This isn't a conspiracy or "rigging" by the P5. It was a move based on the uncertainty of how many teams will be playing come Bowl season and the cost of cancelling a bowl game
