So you know how every kid in the Dominican Republic knows how to play shortstop? What island has all the kids that play quarterback? We need to be recruiting that place!

I would say, as of late, the state of Hawaii has been a pretty strong QB pipeline.

Has USF ever had a normal QB? You got Q, BJ, Grothe... running around and chucking it all over the place. On one hand I'm like let's just get another guy like that. On the other hand, that wasn't sustainable.

He wants to win. I just hope he knows how to build a winner from a scrap heap.

It is perfectly sustainable if you can recruit the right players.  We are never gonna recruit good enough linemen to have a non dual threat QB if we wanna be good.

Good point. I don’t believe none of those guys were recruited by the big boys (maybe BJ?). So for sure they have to be found by good recruiting. If someone is very good with those attributes they probably are not coming here. In some ways all of this has a bit of luck involved.

Are there any traditional, non-"dual threat" qbs anymore?

False we have several non-dual thread QBs on our team... some may not even be a single threat.

Western PA was a 60's through 80's hotbed for QB's. Is that still the case?

Not as much but they can pretty much rest on their laurels at this point

I was answering relative to “good” non-dual threat QBs. Indeed, I suspect almost every team in the nation has at least one pocket QB. But in terms of being decent not so much. Even those who generally sit in the pocket and are effective are also elusive runners.

Got it I was referencing the fact that none seem to be much of a threat of passing.
