I do not gamble, but doesn’t the home team get 3.5 points toward the spread, which would basically make this a pick-em game?

Line seems wrong which means I’m wrong which means USF covers and we win. Awesome! I love my logic.

I think I read that because of lack of fans this year the home point spread is only 1.5 this year. Typically it’s 3 points.

Due to our inability to throw the ball, the key to winning and covering will come down to our ability to run the ball. ECU current ranks:

  • 70th out of 74 in rush defense with 235.5 yards allowed per game
  • 69th out of 74 in yards allowed per rush at 5.6

If we can run the ball effectively - and we will have to mix in some passes to do it - then I think USF gets the win at home. Would like to see this number bet down to -3 or even -2.5 before I take USF and give the points.

Interestingly the spread opened at -2 then shot up quickly -4.

That means one thing: Brybull just hit the game with all his money and moved the line.

Didn’t we win by 25 at ECU last season?

I'm not sure whether to expect a European soccer-type 0-0 tie or a game like one of those early 1990s Loyola Marymount basketball games (e.g., scoring somewhere in the triple digits for each team).

In any event, I don't expect it to be pretty.

So if we win by 14 you are going to start your whining? Great...something to NOT look forward to.
