I have a tough time seeing how a 25 game basketball schedule gets played this year. There is no reason to think that, without a widely available vaccine, these issues won't extend into a basketball season that is slated to start in 61 days.

With basketball season potentially as risk, my hope is that we either have a vaccine or have widely suppressed the virus so the 2021 football season (and that Gator game on 9/11) isn't at risk.

Your take is totally valid.  The thing about basketball compared to football is that the number of players to track is so much smaller.

It just adds a new layer of excitement for sports.

Now you get excited if the game actually happens.....after it starts then you worry about the outcome 😀

Why aren’t they using the quick tests?

Canceling this game seems irrational.

Once this thing fizzles out in early November we should be good to go for hoops.

Read Joey Knight's summary...Scott's explanation makes sense...evidently they are really short on both sides of the trenches...playing Saturday may have been a little crazy...

That's a great question.  Waiting a day or two to get results and then make major decisions based on that seems crazy.  You can bet the Big Ten and the SEC are stockpiling rapid tests.

Because USF health is doing the tests. Using the traditional method takes a bit longer but then you don't have to pay for the test kits, which are only one use anyway.

At least there is some level of excitement that hasn't been around for a few years.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
