I know...this why I am not getting excited for football. Our first game is 16 days away and usually I would be counting it down with excitement. Further, if we do play it can be shut down after one or two games.

The Marlins had a fairly big break out in their locker room the fallout of which was not as dire as everyone predicted it would be and they along with baseball in general seemed to keep on trucking.

However, If you extrapolate the number of Marlins who were sick to a larger football program, I suspect USF would shut it down pretty quickly. Pros are certainly going to be treated than student athletes.

LOTS of students on campus and packed in Target, Walmart, etc yesterday when I moved my son back to USF.   Give it a few weeks, it will explode!

Just let all the college students get it, develop the anti-bodies , and then pay them $500 a pop for donating plasma with antibodies!!  We would have "herd" immunity QUICK!!

What you say is true. Throw in a party or three and the majority will get it.

It has been a long time since I have been to a college party I’m willing to self sacrifice for the greater good

I believe they have some cases and I believe that like the Marlins in MLB it is reported that those transmissions took place outside of the sports world, if the bar is set at no one that plays a sport can get Covid at any time for any reason that is an impossibly high standard that is not applied to any other situation anyone is facing in life. However, if we want to hold it to the same standard it can be argued that they were tested when they otherwise would not have been and standards were put into place to limit their more than likely asymptomatic spread, it is my belief that being in a controlled situation that has not demonstrated to cause spread any more than any other environment (with people that have not demonstrated to be particularly susceptible to negative consequences)  should be preferable to releasing people into a situation where they would still go to the parties but not be tested and not be subjected to any rules.

Serious issues...they have shut down FB practice for 7 to 10 days.

And they tested and contained and it was not demonstrated that football created spread, if anything football seems to be what contained the spread and should be lauded for it. Some teams where a great number of people act irresponsibly for their situation will have to miss a game or two, I do not see how that translates to all 12 games should be cancelled for every single team because people that engage in those activities may have people that act irresponsibly outside of those activities. Scenario A the kids still go to a party, they still get Covid and they are not in any program, never get tested and go about their life as usually spreading and Scenario B the kids go to the party, they get tested are part of a program and are quarantined accordingly. How is A in any way shape or form more conducive to  limiting spread?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
