Wow. Did not think he would get a waiver. Assuming he transferred because he wanted more playing time. Not sure how the athletic department did it but that’s huge. The team is deep this year with everyone coming back plus Murphy, Oduro, Anderson and Tchewa

I think they are handing out waivers this year like Candy at halloween.  Might be to keep the athletes happy so they don't try to unionize like the PAC 12

It was kinda mutual.

IIRC, I read that Tchewa was liked by the Texas Tech staff but he really wasn't a good fit with the style of play. 

Also, the Texas Tech assistant who recruited him took a head coach job at a smaller program. 

So TTU wasn't exactly running him off but they also weren't trying hard to convince him to stay.

Possibly they see that this virus could carry over into bball season. Teams will need to be deep at all positions to offset any positive V player hits. ??
