While I agree with you on this, there is a point of diminishing return. So either our players haven't been practicing their shooting enough or we recruited players who have a limited upside from a shooting perspective. Last year the team ranked:

  • 286 out of 353 in shooting from 2 point range (this is amazingly bad considering how often we took the ball to the basket last year, but also evidence of ZERO mid-range game)
  • 293 out of 353 in shooting from 3 point range
  • 327 out of 353 in free throw shooting

This team is only going to go so far with the shooting, or lack there of, that's been recruited and developed under Gregory.

where did we rank Defensive end in these catagories?

All these numbers can be mis-leading.  The most important number is W's and L's.  They can show areas of improvement, but there are also so many intangibles that just can't be measured for success

We were 19th in the country in opponents points per game.  I'd say that's the most important defensive stat.

you can manipulate numbers any way you want to.  Did you break them down by strength of opponent?  Adjust for injuries?  Team numbers can be scewed if you have high differentials against the weak opponents early in the year and then only have close margins against conf foes. FG% is scewed by positions per game as well.  what about rebounding margin?  you can't just pick the stats you want to make your point.  We know you don't like BG but success isn't based on stats...other then championships

The next person that tries to argue that our shooting was good will be the first.  Nobody has rained praise on our W/L record.   The point is we were the 19th in the COUNTRY in opponents scoring.   You can't minimize some aspects of defense to show how poor we were in others.   Well, you can  .... it's what you do.  I don't need your "stats" lesson.  I understand just fine.   And all the boisterous, long-winded posting doesn't hide what you are .....

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
