The AAC championship isn't the NBA title.  It may not even be the CBA title.  I don't even think it's the CBI title.  Think more in terms or small high school division championship or maybe middle school.

Yet we have zero...

This....well done squire...rings are what matter...especially when one has none...

I'm all for winning an AAC title and it could be a nice consolation prize, but it isn't doing more for our program than knocking off teams like UF

I wasn't comparing our conference championship to the NBA title.

My point was that he was saying winning all those games doesn't matter if you don't win the championship.

What does the trophy look like for being ranked number two in the country for one week?

I've never seen it. I searched Google Images for it for years but can't find it. The next time I'm in the Lee Roy Selmon building I'll ask the receptionist where it is so that I can take a picture of it.

Yes! Many still talk about that #2 ranking like it was yesterday...it’s been 12 friggin years people.    We got three weeks of pub then poof it was gone. Give me hardware and a NYD bowl game.

The same as the AAC championship trophy as far as I and 99% of America knows.  That's the point.

It might look pretty collecting dust in the trophy case and it might make a few USF fans happy but it won't mean a thing in term of the program's relevance.  That's the point.

I'm pretty sure Jordan meant ONLY the NBA title meant anything.  Not a division title, not a conference title, THE NBA title.   So no National Championship means 12-0 and an AAC title don't mean squat.  It didn't even get ucf a seat at the table either year.

And I don't begrudge anyone for wanting to win a conference title.  I get it and I want to win one too, but let's not confuse winning an AAC title with improving our program's standing in the College Football world.

I think we can have the best of both worlds can’t we? Let’s beat UF and win the conference. Bam! Problem solved.

The idea that respect and prominence can come from winning a conference that has no respect or prominence is nothing short of laughable, sure winning every game is better than losing them but an aac championship without a ny6 bowl game is just below a pizza bowl trophy in terms of relevance.
