We're in lakeland and we drive all the time down to Miami ... it's easier ...

LOAD bus with equipment & students ... UNLOAD at TIA ... UNLOAD at MIA ... LOAD Bus AGAIN ... drive to hotel and UNLOAD again ...

But at the same time, we can't talk out of both sides of our mouth. We can't complain that we don't get respect and that we deserve to be counted among the ranks of the Big 3, then get upset when we get called out on it with a perfect example of why we are not there yet.

Don't the Big 3 field a few more sports than USF and UCF?  Wouldn't that automatically "increase" their athletic budgets?

I know UCF and USF have  long ways to go to match those type numbers.  But I think we have both done well with what we have across all sports.

Yes we can ... we're 3-1 and hopefully 4-1 ... tell the players that we can't complain because our budget isn't big enough to warrant them winning.

Not 2 different subjects, two different areas of the same subject.

On the field - This Saturday will be the true test, but there is no denying what the program has accomplished in its short existance. At this point we are still going to be looked at as below UF, FSU and UM, but definately are the closest to them out of the remaining Florida universities.

Off the field - Its all about the little things, the attention to detail, and I'm sorry but IMO not ponying up the extra cash so that the staff and players can travel to the biggest game in program history in comfort is rediculous.

Its not the athletic dept not ponying up the cash... its the donors... you can only buy what you can afford... its not our job to run the budgets for the athletic dept.  They know what they can and can't do... it is our job to provide them with the funds so that they CAN get a plane, if they feel it necessary, to go on a 50 minute flight.

We can't expect them to dig into funds that aren't there in the first place.

I agree that the bus trip isn't all that bad.  As several have pointed out, loading up to the airport, unloading loading the plane, unloading, loading the bus at the MIA airport, unloading at the hotel.  That will take nearly as long as the darn ride.  I'm hoping that the guys can use this as some "bonding" time where they'll do nothing but stew about how little chance anyone is giving them.  Motivate, motivate, motivate.

We have a winning team and are playing the #9 team in the country, our first Big East Game, etc.

Our fans come in numbers of 33K ... that's the biggest perception and has nothing to do with the AD ... it's back to our fans, donors, alums ...  >
