Incorrect!

Which part? We get a handful of parking passes we have to sell in advance and we get no concessions or general parking money. There is no cash benefit to USF if a fan chooses to use their ticket or not.

Let's build a small stadium for us.

You must have huge hands!  I believe it’s 3000 spaces.

USF does get a small get a small cut of concessions sales, but above a level rarely reached by the actual attendees!

Nah, just wanted to see if you'd respond with another irrelevant statement or question.  You did

Up until the WSJ article yesterday the TBT’s interest in only USF’s actual attendance was the only interest in actual attendance in all of college football. Actual attendance has never been a metric for anything, measured by anyone much less a top 5 metric for expansion. Announced attendance has been all anyone has accounted for in all events for all time.

Joey publishes our actual s because he doesn't need to file and fund a FOIA request to get it. That would be an expensive waste of effort for almost any local appear to file every week. The WSJ filed FOIA with every school. It would be nice to see an outlet so this maybe once a year so we can get all the data, but doing it every week, no paper is going to waste the time and money.

Regarding expansion, it doesn't hurt us because all the schools know they have huge gaps of their own, even if it's not public.

LOL at some of these schools with 50% actual.... wow. Bad. And the lame excuses by some of the schools (user error? We tear instead of scan...).

Number of tickets sold is probabaly the best number, shows people actually spending their money. Don't include the freebies or the stadium staff.

How did UCF get around reporting? That school is always acting shady.

Yep... the downward trend means any stadium we build for the future should assume continued declines in attendance. We probabaly don't ever need a 50k stadium. I like 40k number. That's probably highest "actual" attendance we can hope for. And from our recent numbers, it would only be 1/2 full most of the time.

I think the part that I find interesting is that the TBT seems completely shocked that the numbers even existed. If an FOIA is required to get the numbers we don’t even know because not once have they ever even considered looking into it. If the TBT truely believes that actual attendance is news worthy then an occasional request would make sense from their prospective. They report the number because it’s easy and draws marginally more attention than a normal attendance number because up until this week it was novel.

Not sure if it has to do w their Athletic Department being characterized as a DSO. May be exempt from public records laws, if their DSO tracks attendance.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
