If they give him a lane, he can make a defense pay with his feet. Its not like he's Peyton Manning, he just won't create running opportunities like Q did.

We can agree to disagree. I'm not going to read too much into one highlight from an interesting angle, with no pads. I'm not saying that he can't be mobile, but I wouldn't go saying he has "wheels" based upon this one clip.

Check out his JR year highlights which show a few of his runs. At :53 looks quite Grothe\Flowers- esque.

At the very minimum he isn't a statue like some of our past pocket passing quarterbacks in the past so this makes

me feel alot better about him.   As long as he doesn't pull a Floyd on the the field when the game is live he will be ok if he wins the job.

It looks like he's one of those long striders who look slow but are actually covering a decent amount of ground. The run at 1.36  looks pretty decent too.

Yeah, I agree. Granted this is HS speed and size he faced, so who knows if college would be different. His accel looks okay, but the top speed looks pretty darn good. If he's improved any of that, great.

Other takeaway from those highlights (yeah, I know, it's only the stuff he did right that year) I liked is 1) he didn't get shaken under pressure 2) didn't seem afraid of the contact, and 3) threw really well on the run. He may very well be the one to beat, we'll find out soon.

Riley Ferguson had a ton of success at Memphis and he was big.  I think Barnett has a higher chance of being a better QB and has more weapons to work with on offense as a whole. He’ll be fine.
