CFN is ranking all 117 teams that have played 1A football the last 3 years on a number of factors - attendance, graduation rates, quality wins, winning percentage, etc.

They have released 80 - 117 so far with UCF coming in at 99.  The Bulls are not yet on the list so we are ranked at 79 or higher.

Where do you think we will fall?

mid 60's

59. South Florida ... Score: 40.15    2003 Ranking: 79

Program Analysis: Two years of rocking as an Independent has given USF this high ranking early in its D-I life. The on Bad Loss was a forgivable defeat at Alabama last year. Expect a little bit of a dip next year as the 8-3 2001 season won't count and the Conference Winning Percentage could fall.

Attendance Score: 2.75

Graduation Score: 4.6

Quality Wins from 2001-2003: 7

Total D-I Wins from 2001-2003: 17 Players Drafted Score from 2001-2003: 2.0

Conference Winning % Score from 2001-2003: 6.8

Elite Win Score: 1

Bad Losses: 1

Are you sticking your tongue out at me again?

The man asked, "Where do you think we will fall?"

I answered, "mid 60's."

I then put it into some context by providing our 2003 (79) and 2004 (59) rankings and a link.

What part of that didn't you understand?  :P :P :P  ;D

48. Penn State ... Score: 46.27     2004 Ranking: 34    2003 Ranking: 40

Program Analysis: Brian Kelly made CMU more competitive last year, and it should have a more explosive offense this season. The Graduation Score isn't bad, but there won't be much movement in the rankings until there are more wins. It's a must to get more MAC wins in a big hurry.

Attendance Score: 10.53

Graduation Score: 7.4

Quality Wins from 2002-2004: 4

Total D-I Wins from 2002-2004: 16 Players Drafted Score from 2002-2004: 5

Conference Winning % Score from 2002-2004: 3.33

Elite Win Score: 0

Bad Losses: 0

might as well put our own for 2005:

65. South Florida ... Score: 37.10     2004 Ranking: 59    2003 Ranking: 79

Program Analysis: South Florida will be an interesting program to watch over the next few years as it completes the leap from D-I status in 2000, to Conference USA in 2003, to the Big East for 2005. While the team has won 20 games over the past three seasons, only 15 of them count towards the rankings. The Bad Loss came at home to Army last year; that'll stick on the record for a few more years.

Attendance Score: 2.80

Graduation Score: 5.8

Quality Wins from 2002-2004: 7

Total D-I Wins from 2002-2004: 15 Players Drafted Score from 2002-2004: 2

Conference Winning % Score from 2002-2004: 6

Elite Win Score: 0

Bad Losses: 1.5

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
