Strange as Billy was/is a pitching coach. Many of these guys did not get better as the season wore on. In no way did I expect us to advance but would have liked to have seen a better effort. Even yesterday was a struggle.

I feel like this gave us a much better chance than Gville. I’m just getting worn out doing this over every single year in the big 3 sports. It’s like we’re just getting teased every year. We don’t have much to show for regular season wins year after year and I’m (im)patiently waiting for us to turn the corner. Somehow somewhere a spark needs to be lit.

Oh I know. You would figure by now this program would have made it to one super regional. Without question, relative to the big 3 men’s sports at USF, baseball has been the greatest underachiever. It goes way back to the 1980s. Hell, we have not won a conference championship since the move to the BE.

I’ve been harsh to USF athletics lately but if we want to be any sort of relevant we need to win something or we don’t have any kind of leg to stand on when other teams want to run their mouth to us or when conference realignment talks start. Baseball beats some teams here and there. Big deal. I agree, they’ve greatly underachieved. People can get mad all they want but facts are facts.

I started at USF in 2004, we have won absolutely nothing in the past 14 years in any of the major ad ports. Biggest accomplishment was 2012 Basketball.
