I actually saw a quote that he said UCF just wasn't the right fit, aka he wants a P5 job. Not necessarily just waiting on Oregon.

Pretty much this. He likely wanted to exhaust all desirable P5 landing spots first. But we can't afford to wait so I'm behind Danny Whites decision to move on.

It wasn't about who we think wins or the point spread. 

I was responding to the poster's premise about what happens IF UCF wins:
