Here is a list of college football coaches.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_NCAA_Division_I_FBS_football_coaches

Sort it by "First Season" and you'll find that there are only a dozen who have been in their positions since 2007.  So depending on how a person describes longevity, there doesn't seem to be a ton of stability in the college football coaching business.

We are certainly not alone in having coaches come and go.

If only we could find a coach that truly loved USF and would have stayed for his entire career. If only...

I personally think that Larry Scott is the next hire we make, I am not sure that he will be good, but, I think he will be loyal.

we are in the minor leagues

why are most of you surprised

Plus coaching is a profession. How many people would stay at a job for a long period of time making half as much as they could somewhere else?  Especially if that other position is more prestigious.

I expect Strong stays at least another year or so. I am thinking within a year or 2 he ends up at Arkansas.

WOW!  More than 60% of that list is 2013 and after.  Assuming the typical FBS coach gets a 5 year contract, that means more than 60% of them get fired or leave during their contract.  Surprising news to me.

Am I looking at this right?  Someone who passed Statistics, let me know!

GO BULLS!

Bielema is getting canned after this season. They're done with his BS. I fear you are 100% right about Charlie ending up there. Don't see him ending up at any of the other possible openings besides Arkansas.

Tennessee:: No way

Florida: They need offense BAD. Don't think they would look to him.

Ole Miss: Don't think he wants to deal with their situation.

Missouri: Hopeless program

Only other outside of the box scenario I could see is possibly Petrino leaving Lousiville and him running back there.

Do you really think we'd put up 30+ against UF's schedule?  I realize he'd have different, maybe better, talent there but still.

I am more worried about CCS going to UF given his history there and the current tensions they are having over there.  I don't see the point in going to an SEC bottom feeder.

He would need to bring a big time offensive coordinator. FL needs offensive help not defensive.

True but he would definitely have the budget to do that, the best recruits, and he had the #1 defense there in the past.
