If buyouts are too high teams will not sign.

The problem is we don't have enough leverage to have most teams come here first. We go to them...then some just buyout the return game.

What really bothers me is that once you are in, you can have all kinds of corruption and boats with "escorts" but you get a wrist slap from NCAA and get to stay in the money club.

They then get to define what "P5" means (including BYU apparently).

If we don’t build an OCS and act like we really want a football program, he will be gone. And I would not blame him.

Or, maybe if we start getting more than 25k to show up for the games. If we can manage to start putting 40K type numbers up, it would be a sign that the program is starting to gain momentum, and people are starting to give a ****. The empty stadium thing has to be depressing for him after his experience at his previous gigs...

$$$$ talks. I agree, the entire system is corrupt. Just think about all the stuff we never hear about.

I was wrong about CWT leaving because my opinion was emotional, but logically, I see no reason for Charlie Strong to leave USF for any school not named UF, UM, FSU or Arkansas. For you glass half empty folks on this board who thinks the team will crumple w/o QF, um…you said the same thing about USF after Marlon Mack and Rodney Adams left and we are still BALLING offensively. There is a lot of receiving talent on this squad and Kean and Oladukan are both better passers than QF so we definitely will see an increase in our passing game. And with Cronkite, Sands and whomever comes after Sands, we should be good at running back as well. I see our defense only getting better.  Charlie is a great recruiter, so is the staff, and the strength of schedule improves the next 3-4 years including a revenge game against Texas. I can guarantee he is not leaving this year and just can’t see him leaving in the next 4 years. If we keep winning, the fans will come. Some of you guys need to have more faith in the football Gods. And hell even if he was to leave, USF is a job mad coaches would love and life goes on.  I like Larry Scott and would be ok with TJ Weist coming back to coach. Hell, I’m starting to think Shaun King is developing well and in 1-2 years he will start getting some serious looks.

Your delusional if you think there will not be a drop-off in our offensive production once flowers leaves. You remind me of the FSU fans who thought they would lose Winston and Cook and get better.  He's the best QB we've ever had.  Prepare to most likely be wrong again. Our offense will regress.  For Gods sakes were about to tie the record for consecutive 30 pt games.  So maybe I'm taking this wrong and you mean just passing but either way even if that increases our Rushing will decrease because you can't bet your butt that who ever the QB is won't be running as much.

He guaranteed the coach won’t leave. Done. I feel so much better.

1) I don't recall anybody saying we would crumple w/o Adams and Mack, but I could be wrong. The popular belief seemed to be that there would be fewer quick-strike TDs and more sustained drives, which would be better for the defense, and that's exactly what's going on.

2) I would hope that Kean/Olakudun are better passers, because there's no doubt they can't run nearly as well. I think it's possible that there won't be a big drop-off in the offense, and that defenses might not stack the box as much in 2018. I like the possibility of a QB who can sling it, further opening up the run game. Just not sure Kean (or Olakudun) is that guy.

3) No idea if Charlie hangs around long, but how many big name head coaches who are winning a lot of games stick around long at G5 programs? Think Bobby Petrino at Western Kentucky. That could be Charlie Strong.
