Yeah, it's devolved enough.  Maybe smazza can ask again if he needs to.

Correct. And I am finding more. I personally know families of recruits and members of the media who read this board. It is a remarkable tool that most other fan bases don't have the opportunity to use. We should take the opportunity to consider how the school we purport ourselves to be fans of is reflected upon by what we post in very public spaces. If people want the freedom to avoid the potential for harmful ramifications of what they write, send PMs, texts, or do it in closed forums.

I think switching from an offensive minded coach to a defensive one is a huge mistake. they have different mindsets. Strong was forced to go to the spread in his 3rd year there.

I think if Strong doesn't work out then we would have to literally bankrupt our athletic department in order to get rid of him

You do understand that no coach is a sure thing, right?  You had proposed assistant coaches with no HC experience, IMO they are more likely to fail than a proven coach at this level.

Let's face it the guy gutted the program basically because some college students were smoking pot. kind of dumb. it's not like they were hardened criminals. heck look at most successful programs in the country and I bet they have quite a few pot smokers.

It's not, "kind of dumb" if that were part of the expectations.  There are successful programs out there that have criminals of all sorts, that doesn't mean that one should just turn a blind eye to it.  (see Baylor)

not sure smoking pot has anything to do with a person's character

Smoking pot when you know it's illegal and against your coaches rules, do however.

Disclaimer:  I am for legalization.  Until such time, I don't believe it should be used as it is illegal and punishment can be severe.

I agree 100%

How do you know most other fan bases have the opportunity to use a message board?  There are tons of them out there - this just happens to be one of the best, and most user-friendly interfaces available.

Some of them are truly the Wild, Wild West of the internet.  This is not one of those boards.

I appreciate your sentiments but I would suggest you do some research on other message boards before you label this one.  Plus, this is a fan site not affiliated with USF in any way, so the expectation shouldn't be that it is an extension of our university.

Strong didn't invest a dime. Underage drinking is against the rules too. Shouldn't they test for that?

look I have no problem with him being a disciplinarian. let's not act like the mess at Texas wasn't self-inflicted though. he gutted the program and yes more lenient coaches will be able to use that to recruit against him

How in the hell is this self-inflicted?  The players in question broke rules and laws.  Are we ever going to get back to personal accountability?

Agreed, like I've always said, you and I have a very similar outlook on life.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
