The kids want to play for Taggart, that is their prerogative. That is part of Taggart's success formula is kids want to play for him. That is why USF hired Taggart, it's why Oregon hired him too. No hard feelings from me. They were Taggart's recruits just as much as they were USFs. So Taggart has to weigh what recruits to keep at Oregon and not keep and which ones he was recruiting for USF to recruit to Oregon and which recruits not to. I doubt it is easy. You recruit a guy for USF then say "Sorry I don't have space for you at Oregon, but that other guy I as recruiting along with you to USF, there is space for him at Oregon."

I believe he said he'd follow CWT wherever he went before he went Oregon and I don't believe there was any evidence of them talking before he was hired. We had a coach at 12:23 ..... again historical feelings.

I feel some bleed over on other issues.

Judson apparently tweeted it again in the last hour.  It was originally tweeted this morning around 11 a.m. your time.

Many are re-tweeting it now.  It originally happened before the Charlie Strong announcement.

I honestly think it is a honorable thing.  He obviously feels the kids is a great athlete, so much so he wants to take him into a higher conference level.  Many times coaches recruit athletes to the school they are currently at, knowing that is the top level they are at.  When they transfer schools they no longer pursue the athlete because of the belief they are not on that level.

It shows that Taggart was trying to bring us top tier athletes and was successful at building the relationships necessary for it to happen.

The issue is CWT so don't see any other issue bleed over.

Looking at Judson's Twitter, appears that above Tweet was the first and was 3 hours ago. Anyway, we had Strong at 11, too. ;)

Whatever Trip, you have an agenda to be the CWT guy I guess.  Do it.  But stop denying facts.

Judson's first tweet of his offer was early Sunday morning.  It was deleted.  Tweeted again about two hours later.

How about if you agree to that fact and I agree to CWT being a one of a kind class act and move on?

As I commented over there, kind of curious that he waited until we had a coach before doing that .... He wasn't shy about offering highschoolers that hadn't committed here. One's take on this will probably be based on one's historical feelings about CWT.

Would definitely agree the actions are consistent with his character... so in that way I suppose one's take will be inline with their views on that.

Why would he do that? I was specifically told by @RedBull13 that he flipped to Oregon.

Gotta consider playing time at Oregon vs. USF.  I supposed if that's not important and you want to move across the country, then go for it.

An offer, even a commitment is different from actually signing to go all the way to Eugene. Sounds exciting, but it is a little different when you wake up clear across country. A couple of kids may decide to try it, but I doubt many actually go.

How many kids that we recruited originally went out west and actually stayed more than one year or two?

Ryan Gilliam was at Oregon a year, transferred back. Woulard lasted a couple of years at UCLA transferred back. Riley Gibbons made it one year then back home.

It is a long way and a completely different lifestyle. Plus now with Strong here I really don't expect to lose more than one or two kids to Taggart, if any. Now, losing them to UM, UF, FSU, others we usually compete with is another story. However, as always, we will get a couple we didnt expect so all will be fine.

I also believe we are closer to playing in the CFP with Strong than Oregon is with Taggart.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
