Either this season or next, is the best time for Taggart to 'move up'

We have the talent, we are building the enthusiasm

Look how great WKU is doing after the CWT turnaround (without CWT)

Don't remember seeing this anywhere else but apparently if Taggart bolts Kiffin is our top choice.

That's a joke, right?

It'd be an awesome short-term move, as he would give us the best opportunity to dominate next year. But he wouldn't be here longer than 2 or 3 years tops. I just feel like Kiffin probably thinks way too highly of himself to ever take the USF job.

I think we are in the clear. If the Ducks wanted Taggart I think he'd be hired already.

Lane would be my first choice...  he's been humbled in my opinion and wants to get back to a HC position.....

i would expect zero drop off on the offense and I bet get a few of Alabamas assistant coaches

Greed.  It's bad when a business owner or corporation wants more.  But this is different.

And Tony, pitiful.

CWT went into coaching with a goal of winning a National Championship. Why is making the moves necessary to reach that goal a bad thing? He came to USF with just that opportunity in mind, but that path was taken away with absolute zero regard to the aspirations of CWT, or USF for that matter.

Tony Dungy will always, at every opportunity, speak out for the betterment of black coaches that are good men, good family men, and good coaches.

Utmost respect for both men, and thankful both came thru Tampa on the way to reaching their respective goals.

GO BULLS!

I would try to go after a hot coordinator as has been the norm in the AAC lately. A dream hire would be a Jeremy Pruitt or Charles Kelly if we're looking for a defensive guy, or maybe the Louisville OC if we're looking for an offensive guy.

I understand all that. But (no offense to CWT) USF's goal is ALSO to win championships, and USF didn't field a football team to serve as a stepping stone for CWT or other coaches. That may be the reality right now, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. USF's interests, and presumably its fans' interests, lie not in advancing CWT's hopes and dreams elsewhere, but HERE, with our team.

And again, I understand why CWT may want to leave. My bigger beef is with Dungy - I'd prefer we not rely upon him for anything more at USF because it's now clear HIS interests align with advancing friends' careers, not USF's success, so let's not pretend otherwise.

Spot on here... USF should move away from him at this point, regardless if CWT stays....
