FWIW, Skip Holtz beat Strong during their first meeting. He should have beaten Strong & UL two more times after that so I'm not as high on his in game coaching. He can recruit but I think the jury is still out for him to become a great all around coach. His defense at UF was good though so I expect him to get an SEC assistant job

I think it is sad that they fired him.  He looks to have things set up well for next year there, and whoever steps into that job will be a lucky coach.

Go Bulls!

some losses are simply unacceptible

if cwt leave so be it.he has been one dimensional so far in only being able to fix offense.

usf is bigger than any head coach

Reasons Charlie Strong should be the DC at USF..

1. It wont take much to improve stats/defense. He can look like an immediate hero 1st year

2. 2017 our schedule is soft, but 2018-2020 we have a strong out of conference schedule in which we can possibly crash the playoffs. - I feel this is also why Taggart will stay.

3. Back to Florida recruiting.

4. We face Texas. He could have his revenge game.

5. USF already has good defensive players, and recruits coming in. they just need his guidance

If Strong did. by some miracle come, he'd be here for 1 year only. He'd assume he could improve the D numbers and we'd go 13-0 and he could parlay that into a decent head coaching gig.

He still has two year left on his contract for $10.7 mil.  It will be reduced if he take another job.  By how much, I don't know and I don't know if taking a coordinator job counts.  So, for a couple of years, the money won't matter.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
