Charlie Strong as new DC?

It's also being reported we have a better chance of bringing CJL back than we do getting Strong.

Not really sure why anyone would expect a guy that has been a P6 head coach to take a coordinator job at a mid level G5 school.  Maybe 4 or 5 years down the road if he doesn't land something else.  Otherwise, the thought is kind of ridiculous, but stranger things have happened.

He has a lot of Florida ties with recruiting FL so much while at UF and Louisville. I would tend to expect to see him as a DC at an SEC school  like with the potential new LSU regime or at UF if Collins gets a job as a head coach. That is assuming Strong even coaches next season. He could work a year at one of the networks.

Speaking of one year rentals, could we get Dan McCarney to come back and coach the DL like he did in 2007? That worked pretty well for our defense that season.

Wow! We really have a thread for this. We have a better chance at getting him as HC. That's if/when Willie leaves the program. And it could be this year. Plus USF would have to loosen the purse stings to get qualified assistants on this team. That's the stigma around the country about USF. They're cheap, and a coach must come in and create miracles. NO HIGH END COACH would come in risking there career on that. Plus I wouldn't want the team to change to offensive system anyways. I would pray we keep the same offensive system. It works. Our defense system needs work.
