If we go for a 2 and miss. Then memphis gets a long drive, scores, and converts a 2 pt conversion. We lose. That's why.

Absoluely true.  But he's a pretty interactive coach.  Someone cared enough to ask, and he's the type that answers.  I think it's a PC answer.

We shouldn't go for 2.  7 can tie and our kicker is hurt.  We are better not getting into OT

Scenario,

Go for two, don't make it, TD and extra point ties (automatic).

Go for two make it, TD and FG needed

Go for one: TD and 2 pt conversion to tie (2 point conversion not automatic)

Best odds force them to go for 2.
