Too late!

I am getting a little sick about this situation also. Hey, if he comes, great, glad to have him. If not, oh well, good luck in your endeavors. To have this many QB's in camp is great. What I am looking for is one who will lead us. Not a bunch who will surfice. We need a real leader out there. One who will take control and do whatever it takes. Plus one whose skills are one that molds our offense. If this is the kid, then so be it. If not, then let's get on it!   Reaper

My money is on Clemson

Clemson claims four commitments

The State

June 27, 2005

LAST WEEK WAS big for Clemson's football recruiting effort as the Tigers picked up four commitments and moved closer to landing former Tennessee quarterback Brent Schaeffer.Committing to the Tigers were defensive end Deantwan Whitehead (6-6, 245) of Birmingham, Ala., defensive end Ricky Sapp (6-5, 220) of Bamberg-Ehrhardt, quarterback Michael Wade (6-3, 195) of Riverside and linebacker Julius Wilkerson (6-3, 205) of Gaffney.

Whitehead also had offers from Louisville, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee State, UAB, West Virginia, Southern Miss, Mississippi, Memphis and California.

Sapp had been favoring Clemson and picked the Tigers over Georgia, N.C. State and Florida State. Last season, he had 67 tackles, 27 for losses, and 11 sacks.

Wade impressed the Clemson coaches at their camp last week and accepted their offer when it was made late last week. His father, Mike Wade, was a member of Clemson's 1981 national championship team.

He also had offers from Maryland and Duke. Last season, Wade passed for 1,388 yards and nine touchdowns.

Wilkerson committed Sunday while at Clemson for a 7-on-7 passing league with his teammates according to tigerillustrated.com. Wilkerson also had an offer from Virginia Tech and had drawn interest from USC, Florida State, North Carolina, N.C. State and Auburn. Last season he had 151 tackles, nine for losses, and two sacks.

Schaeffer has visited Clemson and Texas A&M and plans to visit North Carolina in the next few weeks. His mother, Chandra Schaeffer, said last week that Clemson is her son's favorite.

USC has moved into strong position with

Richland Northeast linebacker Rodney Paulk (6-0, 195) says he likes USC but does not want to rush into a commitment. He was offered last week by Kentucky and has offers from USC, East Carolina, Virginia Tech and North Carolina.

Offensive lineman Garrett Anderson (6-4, 270) of Dutch Fork has received an offer from USC.

Fairfield Central defensive back Darius Gaither (6-1, 200) has picked up an offer from North Carolina to go along with earlier ones from USC, N.C. State, Auburn, Maryland and Tennessee.

Riverside kicker Richard Jackson (6-0, 185) has offers from Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, Texas A&M and LSU, and Duke is close to offering. Last season, Jackson was 9-for-14 on field goals with a long of 50 yards.

Linebacker Sedric Griffin (6-1, 220) of Fairfield Central has an offer from Furman and is getting interest from USC, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland, S.C. State and Georgia Southern.

Crestwood defensive back Derrick Loney (6-3, 165) has an offer from Newberry and is drawing interest from USC, Clemson, Virginia Tech, S.C. State, N.C. State, Georgia Southern and Hampton.

Former USC receiver recruit Tremel Kline (6-3, 190) and defensive end Brandon Jenkins (6-3, 245) of Battery Creek will enroll this fall at Hutchinson (Kan.) Junior College.

Marlboro County receiver Brian Bradford (5-11, 170) has offers from S.C. State, North Carolina and N.C. State.

Quarterback Chip Bowden (6-1, 205) of Plant City, Fla., says he has offers from Clemson, Wake Forest and Army, and is in contact with UAB, Ball State, Louisville, Southern Miss, Elon, Furman and South Florida.

Defensive back Chimdi Chekwa (6-0, 170) of Clermont, Fla., favors USC over Clemson and Mississippi. He also has offers from Iowa State, Wake Forest, Maryland and Temple. Last season he had 40 tackles and four interceptions.

Clermont receiver Richard Jackson (6-3, 195) caught 72 passes for 1,273 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He has narrowed his list to USC, Clemson, Miami, Florida State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech.

Quarterback Antonio Henton (6-2, 210) of Fort Valley, Ga., is drawing interest from USC. He has offers from Illinois, Ohio State, Louisville and Maryland. He also has heard from Georgia, Auburn and Florida. Last season, he passed for 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Wide receiver Jonathan Massey (6-2, 238) of Gautier, Miss., has verbal offers from Clemson and LSU and written offers from Mississippi, Southern Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. He is hearing from Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Stanford and Kansas State. Massey caught 47 passes for 705 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

YellowBull....A lot has happened since that was posted. Today for example Clemson signed a Top QB for 2006. It has been widely reported that they are no longer interested in Schaeffer.
