If this is the case I want to watch the circus of Bowlsby and the Presidents having to defend the decision to add BYU with all their issues of protest agains their policies and adding a program that has been in a downward turned since Jones left and are winless in a conference that they have felt is inferior.  

This could have excellent entertainment value.  I know perfromance on the field in any one year doesn't mean a lot, but sometimes timing is everything.  Especially since how crappy the Big 12 teams have been this year.

Haven't read this whole thread but I wouldn't be surprised if this was all just negotiation 101. Threaten action just credibly enough to gain important concessions without having intended to follow through.
