That's not apples to apples. What's the "another" spending on tickets this year? It will still be pretty heavy in your favor but at least more accurate ... ;)

He could buy 1 ticket.

Or he could have bought 20. I assume your $50K over 20 years was total spent on USF athletic events, not just donations ...

Correct. That's why if someone donated $50,000 and bought 1 ticket, it would suck, but I would be ok with it. Being able to donate $2,000 and buy 1 ticket, IMO, is wrong.

And I assume what you're talking about there is buying 1 ticket to an away/bowl game and getting a "better" seat. I understand .... hell, I haven't sat down and done the math but I'm probably in a similar situation to you but I'm at the $2k level now ... but I also understand from their perspective with trying to raise donation levels. I'm just not sure it will make a noticeable difference to either of us ....... until the time comes to talk seating in an ocs. That could be fun.

Oh, I understand all of it! It don't mean I gotta like it. And I'm sure that when that time comes for the OCS my wife and I will be back to our original two tickets instead of the six we buy now. We've already cut back from the 9 we had last year.

Don't like it too much either but I'm waiting to see where my seats are for the Memphis game to see how affected I am by it. My Nippert seats sucked ...

Grandfathering is a separate issue than negating value of previous donations.

The value of previous donations aren't being negated, but devalued, to a degree .... and grandfathering is a separate issue but similar in that it's another thing Harlan had to correct with donors.

Devalued is more accurate.

I remember thinking how great it was to get front row 50-yard line seats at Nippert until I got there and realized you were basically at field level in that row staring at the players backs.  That's when I realized why the visiting fans are given those seats.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
