I feel like Mack has done enough for the team to where we can give him the opportunity to prove that he can have a large gain and still punch it into the end zone without costing the team. We can give him that much because our football team is high-powered. Even if we don't get the score, the defense will take care of the job.

This is uncharted territory for us, we've NEVER had an offense that could literally score at will.

Wrong answer.  The correct answer is for Mack to just secure the ball better.  Football 101.  Taught in peewee football.  4 points of contact with the football, hand, forearm, bicep, and chest.  When you do this, you don't fumble

Players at every level keep playing after a long run.  If a 40 yard run is going to gas you so much that you can't secure football, then do more conditioning.

Number one thing you preach to your backs as a coach is ball security.  A lot of time is spent on this.

If you properly secure the ball through traffic, you won't fumble.  It's really as simple as that.  If you maintain 4 points of contact on ball, you won't fumble.  Period.
