I honestly dont remember cheering for a single good play on defense, but on to the next game

When Francois was curling out and I think Senat or someone pounded him to turf.  It was nice to see us in their backfield.

They kept breaking off-tackle runs, over and over again. I only remember 1 inside. Francois didn't even attempt a pass over 15 yards.

This was on the coaching for not stacking the box. They were one dimensional and still ran around us all day.

We need to recrurit some better Dlinemen. The tackling was also horrendous. It looked like a high school team trying to tackle.

No scheme can help when your defensive line is getting physically man handled and the offensive line is getting to the second level consistently. We got man handled up front on both sides of the line today.

We need to recruit DL and OL hard this year. We also have to give credit to FSU. They do consistently have a top 5 recruit class and it showed today. They have better OL and DL players, plain and simple.

This.  Our DL recruiting in the Taggart era has been poor.  Calloway and Senat were decent gets but off the top of my head I can't think of anyone else.  OL & DL talent is what separates good teams from average teams.  It's a lot easier to recruit skill players than the big uglies.  I feel Taggart has done a decent job with OL recruiting but DL has been below average.  Taggart looks to recruit offense first, while CJL always seem to recruit towards the D.  Skippy just didn't recriut.

Also, the identity of Bulls football used to be nasty D and under Taggart our identity has become a high scoring O and all the D needs to do is slow down the other team and we'll out score them.  Well, that doesn't work against better competition.

What scares me is that Woodie is a Taggart buddy.  I hope if it gets to a point where he needs to make a change at DC he'll do it.

On to AAC play.  Go Bulls!

Answer this honestly, do you think the front 4 was the issue today? We were slanting strong side with 6 in the box. They ate us up using misdirection getting flow of Lb  going one way and making the nickel back try and make a play on Cook. We didn't put guys in position to make plays at all.

You're very right. The thing is, a strong front 4 helps all other facets and it's clear Woodie wants to rely on them to generate pressure and beat the opposing 5. Today he should've been putting a tough run stopping LB in the box too; someone like Cherry.

In my opinion the 4-2-5 is the problem when playing run heavy teams. I dont see what the big deal would have been if we played a 4-3 alignment when we play these power run teams.  Have a 5th DB is useless as we saw.  We should have add either an extra LB or DT/DE. See FSU last year, Navy and West Kentucky when those three teams ran all over us.

Especially when the other team is running the ball 80% of the time. FSU's qb really wasn't much of a threat to passing. I agree the 5th db was a waste.

When you play FSU you cannot let Cook beat you.  And he did AGAIN
