GAME DAY VS NIU

USF opened its 20th season of football and 17th in FBS play Saturday with a 56-20 demolition of Towson that equaled USF’s most points ever scored in an FBS opener.

2 & 0: USF will look to start a season 2-0 for the first time under head coach Willie Taggart. The Bulls last started 2-0 in 2012, a season in which USF finished 3-9. The Bulls 2-0 bid in 2015 was derailed by a 34-17 loss at No. 8 Florida State. The Bulls played at, and lost to, a Power Five opponent in the second game of each of Taggart’s first three seasons. USF will play Power Five opponents in games three and four in 2016.

BACK IN THE STATES/SEE YOU AGAIN IN 10 YEARS: USF and Northern Illinois last met in Toronto, Canada in the 2009 International Bowl, a 27-3 victory for USF. This is the beginning of a home-and-home series that USF will complete with a trip to DeKalb, Illinois.......in 2025
