Unofficial attendance guess

Posted this in the rumors thread to someone who asked, but the student section looked healthy, at least at the start.

The students were out in great force and the home side and north end zone were about 2/3 full. I would guess 27-28,000 butts in seats. It was a great opening night crowd for an unknown opponent.

Student section was ripped up and bringing it. Good showing. The other end zone looked more packed than last year too. It was a good showing for this kind of game.

The complaining about attendance is getting old.  35,000 is a solid number even if it was only about 28,000 butts in seats. 

The student section was at or near capacity.

I sit in the other end zone (section 123) and I can tell you that there was definitely more people this game then most games last year. We have seats 1-6 and last year seats 7-20 were hardly ever occupied. Today our entire row was filled with new new season ticket holders. I got to talk to a lot of them and they seemed like they will be there all year.
