This actually seems like a good idea for USF. A lot of practice facilities that I've seen just look like a big shed anyway. The rendering of this one looks nice. BTW, I heard UCF toyed with a variation of this , with walls and no roof.

Outside the box thinking... I like it.

I like it as well. It saves a lot of money and allows for practice out of the rain while not spoiling the team with AC. It's an excellent solution to the IPF. I give it a "YES VOTE!". :GoBulls:

Do we have any scientists here?  Does it not being enclosed have any bearing on whether they can stay out during lightning?

Interesting question. Not a scientist but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn once last year. My guess would be that if the structure was grounded, it would be fine. :icon_drink:

I love how UAB goes from discontinuing their football program to creating this one of a kind Indoor/Outdoor Practice Facility. I would think that this would give USF no reason not to create something similar.

Maybe in Alabama that will be ok. But down here in Florida I would still be concerned for lightning. The good thing about a complete indoor practice facility is no cancelled practice due to the ever present afternoon thunderstorms here.
