I think if USF could string together 2 or 3 undefeated seasons, we would have a shot at a playoff birth. That is the only way that I see a "mid-major" crashing the party.

Lot of staff turnover. We lost the main reason the defense suddenly became so solid. We will not live up to expectations this year.

Agreed !! I think we will end up in the St Pete Bowl which will be cool for USF fans since it is against ACC opponent next season. Maybe it will be Canes vs Bulls or GT vs Bulls.

Yeah that's great to play them... but loses will mount and we won't beat the ACC bowl team either, I fear :(

We were in the Big East, which in and of itself would absolve a team of any 'mid-major' misnomer, by the conference's automatic qualifying (AQ) status.

I like that the media is starting to take note after our nice run down the stretch last season, but I prefer being underestimated. I don't like the loss of Allen at all, but I'm actually more worried about player turnover...esp OL. I'll be nicely surprised if we repeat the results from last season, and if we surpass them--gravy.

The only way we (or any other AAC team) gets consideration for the playoffs is if there's an undefeated vs. undefeated AAC Championship Game.  At the VERY least the winner of said game would have to beat a top 10 team in order to get boosted up to the top 4, and have some help too.
