I can see the HC thing totally being the case... but I think Allen was out the door the day he arrived.  Now we know he really wanted to be closer to Indiana... to each his own.  At least Taggart got the defense he wanted installed and we're moving in the right direction.  I was surprised, the recruit reaction has been pretty positive.  I think we'll be fine though.  I mean he was a LB coach two years ago... just like coach Woodie was last season.

When the offense was clicking we won.  I don't remember the defense winning any games for us.  We could not stop the run at navy or Florida state.  Western Kentucky carved us up like a turkey.  Maryla

I know Woodie is in place now. But I would be curious if CWT would be interested in Randy Shannon as DC.  Good recruiter and coordinator.

Shannon refused the first time and he's already co-DC at Florida.

Maybe he's closer to home, and hoping to be a HC there someday.  Who's to know what his life goals are, but you're right...that's a basketball school, with a Big 10 doormat football team.

Does any one know if Coach Allen broke his contract, we get a buy out from IU?  I can't imagine we had a one year deal with him.

Hmmm, just when I thought all coaches were in place for USF......then I read this.  I wish Coach Allen the best.

Now am I correct it was Coach Woodie on the sideline always jumping & high fiving the players on the sidelines when they did something good?

If that's the case I hope his enthusiasm continues & he does well in his new position.
