Crazy idea but could they demote Taggart to just a recruiter for team. If your going to pay the guy make him recruit for new coach or is his contract for head Coach job only I guess.

Depends on the size of the defended structure.

Considering the current fan base, closer to 2 than 3000.

I would think it is too early to fire Taggart

We lost to 2 teams we technically were favored to lose to

 

IMO, Taggart will get a final grade as follows:

 

OOC games are weighted at 20% of the final grade.

FAMU, Cuse, MD, FSU have a reverse win/loss weight (A FAMU win isn't weighed big, but a loss would be weighted heavily... while an FSU win would be weighed high, while a loss would be minimal.)

 

Conference games are the other 80%

...UCF is weighed a bit more in this category

 

In other words... lose out all OOC games but win out all other games gives Taggart a solid 80% (B grade.)

However going winless in all OCC games automatically puts pressure to do really well the rest of the way, losing 3 conf games (6-6) would give him about a C grade, which is minimal to be retained

It probably won't happen tonight but when we have the next bye week it could be a very good possibility if there is no improvement throughout the rest of the season 

 

If they come out of the bye week and run the same 3 plays, I say pull the plug.

 

But we are playing a fast and up tempo offense

We can only hope a big time donor gives alot of money to the athletic program for a good coach.

Otherwise I just accept the fact that Usf football is no different than FAU or Fiu at this time.

I've waited. Taggart has shown he won't change his philosophy. Can the athletes on the team squeeze some AAC wins out despite his coaching, probably, but that isn't a ringing endorsement.

 

Let's be fair.  Taggart DID change his philosophy.  It was a philosophy of line up a bunch of tight ends and fullbacks, take every possible second between  plays to mull things over and change things at the line, then run the ball until desperation time and then start passing

 

Now we do all of this with WRs instead of TEs doing the blocking, and without a huddle but taking just as long to get a play call in.

 

Very different philosophy.
