Not sure why 5 games and not include that 14/36 debacle against Maryland where he played all but a couple snaps. That was a 2014 game. But whatever. Put him in and then start the "CWT is playing musical QBs again" stuff.

I tried to emphasize he most recent play. There were 5 games in between the second game of the season against MD and Cinci where he did not play a single snap. Along those same lines I could have include the first game along with the second game of 2014 where he had 1 pass for a completed 100% completion ratio and a passer rating of 184.0. 

 

I think looking at the second half of the season is a more equitable comparison as we are looking to his most recent play.  

 

As for CWT and musical QBs, he gave MW every opportunity to excel, to a fault if you ask me. He also played QF last year with maybe 5 plays to run. Anyone complaining about CWT not giving QF a chance to play, especially after the FSU game, IMO would be irrational. I am also not calling for QF to not see the field btw, just think SB could give us a good look to win some games. I don't want to see CWT get fired when he could be on the precipice of creating something great at USF again.

Good take, Hornz. You make a good case. Unfortunately I don't think CWT will see it that way. QF is the starter until AW is cleared, for better or worse. So my take is we may as well support the kid. He's not awful overall (and I know you didn't say that; just saying), and can make plays. Here's hoping his passing continues to improve.

For all you Bench supporters, I just have one question for you. Now answer this TRUTHFULLY now. In your heart of hearts, do you honestly believe that Bench would have made something out that mad scramble where Flowers threw a TD to Johnson. And the answer to that is an obvious NO. He would have either been sacked, or had to throw it away. And that, my friends is why Flowers is our QB. Flowers will get the job done, and make you all eat crow. Flowers is flat out better than Bench. Flowers has the heart of a lion. He has been through everything in his life, and his teammates would run through a brick wall for him. Flowers is a champion for just surviving this long. Flowers will get the job done...wait and see.

They might run through a brick wall for him, they just won't have the ball when they do it. It'll be in the 3rd row on the sideline.

I wonder how many of those 7,882 posts of yours weren't sarcastic. It's a gift.

The first 1000 or so I was just finding my voice. So I don't like to count those. Like how Sylvester Stallone did some porn before Rocky.

I'm not reading through this thread, so I apologize if this has already been said, but no QB will get better if they aren't shown some confidence and don't go in and take some lumps.  If we go with Bench, we're wasting time with QF.  We need to stick with QF unless things get really bad or he shows he's wilting under the pressure psychologically.  

 

I'm on the Flowers bandwagon at this point.

QF did fine against FAMU, and against FSU he was playing in his 3rd career game against one of the top defenses in the nation. People ridiculing him for missing throws or being hesitant with the shaky O-line and all thumbs WR's we have are crazy. Those talking about Bench's performance against FAMU during mop up duty acting like it's a huge feat, you absolutely have to factor in how gassed that defense was, and the throws he made would've been picked off by a decent defense, go back and watch how close they were to going the other way. Please... Bench has had all spring, summer, and fall to separate himself from QF and prove that he is the one to lead this team, but he hasn't.
