No. People would just think that FSU is more terrible than us.

 

If we beat them this year, it would be hard for them to say they're terrible, with a QB that played for a national title 3 years ago, and FSU winning 30 of their last 32, or some such.  The dropoff isn't THAT large where anyone could say that with a straight face.

So, hypothetically speaking, USF would get some votes, but not break into the top 25... we took care of FAMU the way we're supposed to... then go on the road and beat what people see as a Top 10/11 team... that would garner quite a few votes.

 

Getting into the Top 25 is as much about other teams losing as USF winning.


That said, the odds are approximately three thousand seven hundred twenty to one.

Would prob have us receiving votes. TOP 30.   If we beat MD  the following week( which I like our chances)  than we crack the top 25. But lets not pull the carriage before the horse here. We need to win this week first.

I remember that drive back to Tampa in 2009. WOW was that a great feeling......

I can't believe I'm going to join in this, but remember when we beat #9 Louisville in 2005?  USF didn't get ranked (maybe got a vote or 2), but UL fell way down the charts.  You have to build up to stuff like getting ranked.  After our last 3 seasons, nobody is going to put their name on a vote for us this early.  Also, there are still voters who remember the years when USF was ranked early, but always tanked it in the middle of the season.  But it's pretty silly.  We've gone 2-10 and then 4-8 over the last 2 years.  We finally beat a bad FCS team by a margin that should be expected.  We still don't know if this team is any good.  FSU doesn't know if they are any good either, but there's a better chance that they are better than us right now.

^^^^ I don't think anyone really expects USF to be ranked in the slight chance we get a W tomorrow.  Smazza's just trolling as usual, but he's too late on this one, someone beat him to it.
