Is USF a "commuter school" - and how does that term affect you?

The term "commuter school" does in fact irk me.

That being said, I was a commuter student. Class of 2004.

It makes leaving the school at 5 pm an absolute nightmare from mid-August until April. The traffic is backed up from Fletcher into the Collins parking garage. That's how commuters affect me.

 

That is not possible, because USF is not a commuter school.

If only the traffic was as light as Archer or Newberry in Gainesville.

Lol. I will take usf traffic over the traffic here any day. This city has serious issues, due to extremely poor urban planning. These road were never meant to have this many cars. At least in Tampa you have roads and occasionally they attempt to widen them. Who the hell though it was a good idea for university to be a one lane, in one direction by the stadium? **** up here is ridiculous. These flat-land billies have no idea how to develop anything and focus so myopically on the growth of the university. They fail to see that the rest of this area can't handle the stress. Also, crime in and around campus is something fierce. Don't let the sleepy parochial front fool you. UF draws all kinds of crooks from the surrounding areas.

I got that, that's why I was laughing. Traffic around a university is a terrible indicator of commuter status. Takes way too much for granted.

 

My sister went to UF and it was a train wreck 20 years ago. I doubt much has changed.
