  1. Looking forward to my meeting Jose tonight. I am looking forward to seeing how he feels about the season. Hope I get a better vibe than what I am hearing.
  2. Let me know when and I would be glad to meet him anywhere and talk basketball and his philosophy. Maybe I can help him get his passion back. He was great when he had the passion, but his demeanor has changed the last few years. Especially since they won the WNIT. Maybe he is resting on his laurels. I just want the bulls to be successful. If Jose can turn back the clock to his old self then so be it.
  3. Locally Jose keeps saying this team will be special. I hope so because his colleagues think the team will be mediocre AGAIN. Pre-Season 9th and ZERO players on the All-Big East Team or Honorable Mention. Another average year = fire Jose!!

  5. Faith Woodard, one of the best girls basketball players to play in Hillsborough County in a long time commits to Big East rival Georgetown. Rumors has it didn't trust or believe in Jose's program. Big loss for USF, invested a lot of time recruiting her.
  6. No not at all. It just gives me an insight as to why the team has sucked the last few years.
  7. I have never been a person to post. However, I feel stongly about this topic. I am probably one of the few who really care about women's hoops. Ever since my daughter started showing serious interest 7 years ago, I really invested my interest into the USF program. Being local, we bought season tickets and really enjoyed the games. Since the Jessica Dickson and Tia Grace era's there has not been anything to get excited about. Now that my daughter is friends with many of the players and has been for the past few years. I have seen a major decline in the program. The players say that Jose has lost his edge, they have had numerous players leave or get kicked off, and they have the worst APR of any team on campus. He has very good players, but they are frustrated and it is sad to see so many seniors on this team who just want to get the year started and over with. Maybe Jose can find his passion again and show the players he really cares. I just think that he needs an NCAA apperance to earn a new contract.
  8. Jose needs to make the NCAA tournament to get an extension, period!!! Mike you talked about how we need to give him a chance to recruit the sun dome, etc..., but he has been telling us every year that we have a great recruiting class. If you have already had great recruiting classes and finished .500, what am I to think differently of your coaching with the next 3 years of recruting classes. Also, my daughter played basketball locally, but not in college. She has gotten to know the girls from being on campus and even plays open gym with them. I would love to meet you and sit and talk one day Mr. Stuben. It seems we are both passionate about USF sports, and in this case, women's basketball.
  9. I am a current season ticket holder with a daughter who attends USF. She is friends with many of the basketball, track, and volleyball players. I am not quite 50, but I am pushing it. LOL
  10. I talked to three current players this weekend. They all say you can sense that Coach Fernandez is under a lot of pressure. They all three said that the loss of Shalethia Stingfield to a knee injury is devastating. They said she was playing really well. All that being said, every loss by Skip Holtz hurts Jose Fernandez. As stupid as Doug Woolard looks right now by giving Skip an extension for doing nothing, there is no way Jose will get an extension following another average at best year. Also, at what point does Judy say enough is enough with Woolard?
  11. Those profiles are more high profile. Injuries or not, if you have as you say recruited well, you should not be under .500 the last 4 years. Also, the women's basketball program also has the lowest ARP of any team on campus!
  12. I guess gobulls83 is just a happy loser. Havent asked to win national titles, just live up to your expectations. Jose's record is Under 500 since the WNIT Championship!
  13. Since everyone is on the fire this coach and that coach kick, I figured I would throw my 2 cents in. The coach who has worn out his welcome is Jose Fernandez. How average can a program be? All we hear is that year in and year out he will have great teams with all this athletic talent, yet they continue to be an average team. They are not well coached and make zero adjustments. I have been a season ticket holder for 7 years and I get frustrated every year. Recently, it has been try and play man defense with some full court press and then run set plays for a shooter. There is no creativity and a lot of times the players dont play hard for him. I think the program needs some fresh blood. Also, there are a lot of rumors floating around about Jose and his lack of work ethic. I was talking to a former player the other day who said he acted like he didnt care her last two years and said that is the sentiment of current players too. I have a feeling that this will be another "we expect great things", but end up disappointing year. After this, his final year of his contract, I hope they dismiss him and not give another underachieving coach an extension. A very disappointed season ticket holder!
