I mentioned this in another thread, but I think it merits its own place.

We all know that USF has to fix football and men's basketball. There is lots of hope that Coach Antigua will get MBB on the right track. We all hope that football is going to have a breakout year. While USF Athletic Department works to right the ship, it can't let the programs who are winning lose their direction.

Ken Eriksen

Jose Fernandez

George Kiefer

All 3 have won at a very high level.

All 3 have produced consistent winners.

All 3 have won over a long period of time.

We all raved about the atmosphere at the Sun Dome for the NCAA tournament, well, we had similar atmosphere hosting the softball super regional before heading to the College World Series, and we had that atmosphere for many NCAA Men's Soccer tournament games.

I know it is time to extend Jose, 2 years have ticked off his deal, and he has continued to show he can win. Ken runs one of the best programs out there, and I think it has been 2 years since he got his deal. I honestly don't know when George got his last deal, but hopefully we can keep renewing it.

We need to keep these three coaches happy, so we don't have to worry about their sports. They all have earned loyalty from USF, and we can't assume they will be here forever if we don't take care of them.

I just would hate to wake up one day and read that we lost one of them because we didn't do enough to appreciate what they were doing for us.

I am not calling out the athletic department by the way, I am out of the loop and we might be doing these things right now. I am just saying if we are not, then we should be.

Those sports don't put fans in the seats. They can all be replaced.

We need to win at EVERY level. Look at tue best programs out there - they're in every postseason. UL, Mich State, etc

This comment makes no sense to me. What do you mean "replaced"? Replaced by what? If you replace a winning WBB team with a crappy WBB team, the program just sucks that much more.

What 3 sports were you thinking we'd replace them with? I vote for quidditch, fencing, and equestrian.

It's not very often that you can agree 100% with smaZZa and have somebody else make the dumbest comment.

If they don't get football fixed, crickets are the only thing we'll here from the athletic department...
