We've never had 5 guys on the floor with same talent (that can compete with good teams). It's so frustrating. Again, it was amazing what Stan did to get us those NCAA tourney wins.

Coaching isn't going to matter so much until we get more than the traditional one or two players on our team who can play.

We have facilities now. Let's see what Coach O can do. I'm patient but I'm so frustrated to see us get cleaned out by other teams.

Basketball is a funny sport. You only need 2 to turn your team around.

We rarely have the two.

We shall see if Coach O is a good recruiter, or if he was just able to live of the Kentucky brand when recruiting.

It shall be interesting.

Going to take some winning season's to get 4/5 star players at all let alone consistently.

The 2016/2017 year will be when we realize what Antigua can do.

He'll have had another year to recruit and we'll see how he develops his players and gets them to buy into his system.

We could have a starting lineup of all upperclassmen that year too with Peters, Holston, Ziegler, Perry, and Guerrero. They've all shown potential to be special players, only time will tell if coach can get the most out of them.

Sat in the Box next to Coach O at the Women's Game Monday,  He and  two others ( one his brother I believe or asst coach).  They were into game, cheering ect .. stood whole time . Nice support.

He sees what a winner will do to the Dome . He knows if he can ( which he will I believe) start winning , the Dome will fill up for Both Men and Women on a regular basis.  We could be a BB FISRT school   with good football ( bowl team and occasional Conf Champ) like UConn, and Cincy.  ( both went to BCS bowls and play good football most years and have NCAA  BB tourney  teams consistently.

Would put us in Upper echelon of the conference.  look at Cincy football over last 7-10 years ( a lot of 8 plus wins season)

With that said coach O  basically recreated the team completely has the connections to be very good ( UK) , NY recruiting, Overseas ( since he coaches national team).  ( Women have found huge success overseas as well).

I see us getting NIT bid this upcoming year minimum. Also don't be surprised if  We give UK a good game next year in Dec ( he knows them well and beat them with his Dominican Team this year).  Will put us in the spot light immediately early in season.

We will win about 17- 20 Games I think, give or take a few on either side.

In two  more years  we will be picked to win AAC preseason  and we will make the Big Dance

Book it now folks.   Get ur tickets so you wont be left out watching on TV,  Cant replicate the crowd on TV.  ( Women's game gave me Goosebumps and was rocking)

The problem with basketball hasn't been overall talent, but having depth and experienced talent.

Stan's problem, ultimately, was because he had had to sort of patch the team together when he first got here the talent/experience level ended up being like a see-saw. When he finally got the good players with the experience to win they graduated. Then the next couple of years it was starting over with new or young guys.

Stan's last year was more of a base building year with arguably the best talent we have ever had here. Problem again was once AC got hurt it was Ruud and a bunch of raw, inexperienced freshman or first year JC transfers.

Stan built the team to be competitive this year and would probably have been very good next year with a good mix of experienced players and younger guys behind them to give us some continuity.

I was against Stan getting fired because, if you looked closely at what he was doing, you could see light at the end of table.

Antigua looks to be doing the same (talent wise). With all the defections, it ended up being a complete re-set. I believe that the key now, for sustained success of any kind, will be for the fans and, and more importantly, the administration, to stay patient through at least 4 or 5 years.

If we can get to 15 to 17 wins next year, with mostly 2nd year players AND Coach O can continue to bring in 2 or 3 good players in each class we can finally get rid of the talent/experience see-saw and see some consistency from year to year rather than build up for one good run from a bunch of seniors only to fall back to the bottom for another 3 years waiting for young guys to develop or trying to catch the once every 15 year superstar like Charlie Bradley, Chucky Atkins or Dojo.

Just stay the course Coach O is on the right track, but patience will be required.

(1) We'll always be a football first school. This state doesn't have the wealth of basketball talent, nor the fan interest. UConn and Cincy both sit in areas that produce some of the best basketball talent in the country.

(2) Slow down on the NIT.

Agreed. But Stan and everyone before him didn't have facilities. Stan only had the facilities at the very end.

Now that the reputation bounce from those NCAA tourney victories are worn off, it's up to the new coaching staff (with the new facilities) to recruit.

These guys are right off the apple tree (UK-mystique tree) and we have brand-new facilities. If we can't bring in the talent and depth now, it ain't ever gonna happen at the South Florida tree. Word up, Seth!

10 players on the basketball ESPN top 100 from 2015 are from Florida.
