Good commitment but we need his teammate Ty Outlaw as well. Smith should compete with Holston for the starter role at the SG spot next season. Both are considered scorers so USF desperately needs them.

I was trying to get the jump but I've been beat! Glad we pulled in a kid that's considered a scorer. Hopefully he can bring some consistency

Orlando Antigua added Junior College scorer Shawn Smith to his 2015 class.

Smith, who started his college career at Texas A&M, committed to South Florida early Sunday morning, a source told Scout.

During his sophomore season at Lee College, Smith averaged 15.3 points a game and shot 39.8-percent form three (45-for-1130.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Smith was regarded as the No. 29 shooting guard when he came out of high school in 2011.

Antigua and USF now have five pledges in their 2015 class. Smith joins Luis Montero, Jahmal McMurray, Tulio Da Silva and Luis Santos to make up their current class.

Fact check on Montero coming to USF in 2015! :D  To keep this on-topic, I'm glad we were able to snag this kid. He can surely help with the scoring next year. Vega, what are the chances that USF snags Outlaw as well?

Would these guys be good enough to be in the rotation right away next season?

Also, fact check about the other 3 being pledges ... but other than that, dead on.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
